At Coyne Dentistry, we understand this has been a frustrating and concerning time for our patients. Amid pandemic concerns, many would rather stay at home than come to the dentist. However, we believe that putting off your oral health needs for months at a time can be harmful to your wellbeing. That is why, as we reopen, we are committed to strictly following all recommended health and safety guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and help you feel safe during your visit.

Employee Health Screenings

To maintain the health and safety of our patients and employees, we are conducting daily health screenings. As our employees begin their day, we check their temperatures and screen them for any risk factors such as recent travel and illness. If a member of our team is showing symptoms – such as a cough or fever – we ask that they self-quarantine for 14 days.

Ensuring Patient Health and Safety

We have always closely followed all recommended sanitation and safety protocols. Now that we are facing a global health emergency, we are going above and beyond to ensure we comply with the recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), among others.

We are continually monitoring these guidelines and educating ourselves on how to better serve our community. By implementing strict sanitation policies and requiring the use of additional personal protection equipment (PPE), we are doing everything in our power to keep our employees and patients safe.

Sanitation and Sterilization

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 and other diseases, our team sanitizes the office, treatment rooms, and equipment throughout the day. We also use disinfectant hand soap whenever we handle supplies, materials, or dental tools that may be unclean. We always use EPA approved cleaners and Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved sanitation devices such as dental autoclaves, steam sterilizers, and other dental sterilizers.

Everything is sanitized before and after we treat each patient. From dental chairs to pencils, our team thoroughly cleans every inch of our office.

Use of Disposable and Reusable Equipment and Materials

We use disposable PPE and materials whenever possible. These things are used once and then immediately thrown away. Our team undergoes extensive training so they understand proper disposal methods and techniques. Disposable materials include brushes, face masks, gloves, floss, gauze, etc.

Although we use disposable instruments as often as possible, some equipment cannot be thrown away. For reusable tools and equipment, we follow a stringent sterilization routine to ensure everything is 100% free of bacteria and germs. These items are cleaned, carefully packaged, and sterilized before and after each use. Our equipment uses a combination of heat and chemical cleaners to ensure everything is properly sterilized.

At Coyne Dentistry, we are committed to providing safe, reliable dental care for you and your family during these difficult times. If you would like to learn more about our COVID-19 sterilization practices and procedures, feel free to call our office at 937-247-4363.

Extraoral Suction System

Extraoral Suction

The safety and health of our patients and team members are paramount. Coyne Dentistry is now implementing innovative technology to reduce droplets and germ spread in the air. Our office utilizes the Extraoral Suction System by ADS Dental to help contain and eliminate spray that is associated with dental care. During dental procedures, droplets and aerosol spray is routinely passed onto the dentists’ and team members’ bodies. In an effort to reduce this spread of germs, the annihilator uses a filtration and containment system to suction the droplets from the air before they spread.
