BondingBonding is a quick, cost-efficient treatment that can beautifully enhance your smile. In as little as one hour, we can apply dental bonding to the front of a tooth to quickly fix minor chips, cracks, gaps, and blemishes. Enjoy a beautiful new smile in just one visit at Coyne Dentistry!

What is Bonding?

Dental bonding is a procedure we often use to correct minor blemishes in the teeth. This material is made of a durable, tooth-colored resin that is attached to the front of the teeth. This treatment is completely safe and requires almost no alteration of your natural tooth structure. Because of its simple, conservative approach, this is one of our most popular cosmetic treatments!

How Can Bonding Help Me?

We often recommend this treatment to patients who have small imperfections in their smiles. This can range from cracks, to irregularly-shaped teeth, to small gaps between the teeth. Because it is a quick, non-invasive treatment, bonding is a relatively inexpensive cosmetic option.

What is the Procedure?

One of our skilled dentists will begin by discussing your cosmetic goals, concerns, and treatment options. We will conduct a short exam to determine if bonding is best for you.

Once your treatment has been approved, your dentist will prepare your tooth. To do this, he or she will slightly texture your tooth’s surface. This is a perfectly harmless step that will allow us to securely bond the resin to your tooth. Once your tooth is ready, your dentist will apply the resin and mold it into the desired shape. Because the resin is soft and putty-like at first, we can easily design it to enhance your tooth’s appearance.

To finish, we will use a special curing light to harden the resin. Because it is tooth-colored, your restoration will look like the rest of your natural teeth. After making a few final adjustments, your tooth will look as good as new!

How Long Does Bonding Last?

Because the bonding material is made from resin, it will not be as durable as a ceramic or porcelain veneer. To avoid stains or damage, brush your teeth often, and do not bite into anything hard. If your bonding breaks or falls off, let us know as soon as possible so we can fix or replace it.
